Duane Bork, M.D.
Arlington
Family Practice
Duane L. Bork, M.D., has been in practice locally for more than 35 years. His patients appreciate his commitment to their care, and so do the ranking authorities. He has been named one of the "Best Doctors in Jacksonville" by Jacksonville Magazine in 1995, 1998, and 2002, and he was listed as one of the "Best Doctors in America" in 1998.
Born in Marcus, Iowa, Dr. Bork attended Augustana College in South Dakota before attending the State University of South Dakota. He earned his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Iowa in 1962, and then served in the U.S. Navy for five years. He has practiced in Arlington since 1967, and was a school physician for Jacksonville University for twenty years. Dr. Bork has been active in medical organizations at the local, state, and national level, and is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He brought his practice to the Family Care Center of Arlington in 2001.
Although Dr. Bork sees many of his patients improving their diet and activity level, he wishes more would choose to stop smoking. His practice philosophy is to be a "partner with the patient." He predicts genetic manipulation will offer exciting new treatments for diseases in the near future. In his spare time, Dr. Bork enjoys spending time with his wife and three grown children, fishing and golfing.
